New grill opens outside Cay

TEGA CAY -- Steve and Kelly's Grille House, 2150 Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill, hosts its grand opening July 9 during regular business hours. The restaurant, co-owned by Kelly Renfroe and Steve Mantekas, has been open about a month.

"The atmosphere's great, the menu's great," said Renfroe. "We've gotten a lot of compliments."

Steve and Kelly's offers an array of appetizers, seafood, pasta, chicken and steak, as well as an extensive wine list featuring more than 40 options.

"We're dinner only," Renfroe said. "It's a restaurant bar. It's a one-stop eatery."

Renfroe and Mantekas both have experience in the local restaurant business. Renfroe owned a bar about 10 years ago in Lake Wylie, where Cafe 49 is now. Mantekas owns and operates Captain Steve's seafood restaurant in Fort Mill.

Steve and Kelly's is open 3 p.m.-midnight Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-midnight Saturday. For more, call (803) 548-1799.

Seafood coming to Fort Mill

FORT MILL -- An upscale seafood restaurant, to be called The Fish Market, is expected to open in early August at the former Inn at Baxter site on Market Street, according to Hank Lim, who recently purchased the building.

The fresh fish offerings at the new restaurant will arrive once, sometimes twice, daily and range from shrimp, clams, oysters and Georgebank sea scallops to Florida black grouper, Scottish salmon, Block Island swordfish and Carolina trout.

Lim expects to open for lunch and dinner seven days a week with a menu that also will include steaks, chicken, pasta, salads and sandwiches. A full-course dinner with rice or potatoes and steamed vegetables will run about $12.95 to $18.95, he said, while lunch will cost about $7 to $11.

Lim said the decor at the The Fish Market will be casual, but somewhat upscale.

"It's casual, but not a fish camp," he said.

Born in the southeastern part of China near Hong Kong, Lim, 44, was in the restaurant business in Atlanta for 16 years and opened a sushi restaurant seven years ago in Charlotte. The Inn, which featured fine dining, opened in 2005 and closed earlier this year.

Leadership York County is committed to developing a group of informed, dedicated and qualified individuals capable of providing dynamic and progressive leadership for our community. The program begins in September with an opening reception, followed by an overnight teambuilding and planning retreat. The course continues monthly for seven months as area leaders in business, government, media, education and health services come together to inform and enlighten participants on issues and concerns facing York County. Each day, topics will be addressed that highlight situations, needs and opportunities within our area. The program culminates with graduation activities in the spring of 2009.
