"Angels in the Dust," Louise Hogarth's latest documentary, will premiere in Charlotte 7:30-9:30 p.m. May 9 at Myers Park Methodist Church, 1501 Queens Road. Charlotte. The film profiles Marion Cloete, joined by her husband and two daughters, who leave a privileged suburban life to establish an orphanage supporting more than 500 South African children. Cost: $25. BOOK SALE

Friends of the York County Library book sale, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. May 9 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. May 10, Pope John Center at the Oratory, 434 Charlotte Ave., Rock Hill. Thousands of books will be for sale, priced at $1 per inch, measuring the height of the book stack. Videos, audio books and surplus library equipment will be for sale at bargain prices. Saturday is half price day; books costs 50 cents per inch, small paperbacks cost 25 cents each and videos cost 50 cents.
