Lake Wylie AutoZone opens
LAKE WYLIE -- A strong start Saturday has Lake Wylie's newest business hoping to roll that success right into the first full week of business.
AutoZone, the automotive supply store chain based in Memphis, Tenn., opened a new branch Saturday at 5089 Charlotte Hwy. in Lake Wylie. The store offers all of the AutoZone staples, including free battery, alternator and starter testing, free battery and wiper installation and free onboard diagnostic testing.
Customers have been coming in regularly since Saturday, said assistant store manager Benjamin Clark, making the new AutoZone feel welcome in the community.
"It's been great," he said. "We really appreciate everybody coming in. People are really supporting us, and we're going to try and be there for them."
The Lake Wylie AutoZone is open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. For more, call (803) 631-5338.
Furniture store opens at plaza
LAKE WYLIE -- A popular Tega Cay-area furniture store is now open for business in Lake Wylie. Piece By Piece Furniture, specializing in case goods, upholstery, art, furniture samples and more, opened its second store Friday at 4078 Charlotte Hwy. A formal grand opening is still being scheduled.
"We're just excited to be there, and we're ready to go," said co-owner Jeannie Hensley.
Store hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, except on Wednesdays, hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The store will follow the same model used by Hensley and Lynn Williams at their 2615 Hwy. 160 W. store near Tega Cay.

Fresh Fruit Bouquet opens
TEGA CAY -- Fresh Fruit Bouquet Co. will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon July 1 at its new location, 2435 Hwy. 160 W., Stonecrest Shopping Center.
The new business sells fruit arrangements with or without chocolate, real fruit smoothies and is an exclusive retailer of "Frogurt" frozen yogurt. The business is owned by Richard Richardson.
