Oakridge Middle School gets mascot, colors

John Marks jmarks@lakewyliepilot.com LAKE WYLIE — What future Oakridge Middle School students may lack in creativity they more than make up for in school — as well as community — spirit. Following an informal presentation by Superintendent Dr. Marc Sosne to the school board without objection, the new Lake Wylie-area middle school now has its mascot and colors. “It will be the Oakridge Middle School Golden Eagles,” Sosne said last week. The school colors will be maroon and gold, similar to the college teams at Boston College or the University of Southern Mississippi, Sosne said. Will Largen, principal at Crowders Creek Middle School, said the outcome was a “pretty logical choice” when he asked future Oakridge students what they wanted.
