LAKE WYLIE--The N.C. Turnpike Authority wants public comment on the proposed Gaston East-West Connector, or Garden Parkway, project through July 21. The Garden Parkway project, begun in 1989, recommends a route running 21.9 miles from I-485 at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport to I-85 in western Gastonia, costing $1.18 billion to $1.42 billion.
