Satellite campus gets warm greeting

Tega Cay’s Lakeshore Christian Fellow hosting more preview services before official opening in Catawba

More than 130 people came out for the Feb. 26 Lakeshore Christian Fellowship preview service at the new Rock Hill/Catawba campus at the newly remodeled building at 2203 S. Anderson Road.

Senior Pastor Gil Dirmann Jr. gave an inspirational message about “Jesus Christ, Our Savior and Soon Coming King.”

Lakeshore Christian Fellowship is a young church endeavoring to offer a fresh and contemporary approach to ministry. With a blend of contemporary and traditional music, LCF attracts a variety of people from families in their 20s to senior citizens.

Preview services are designed to allow visitors the opportunity to attend a service on a Friday night and experience what Sunday’s will be like when the doors officially open at LCF in Rock Hill/Catawba for 10 a.m. service April 18.

“One church, two campuses” means everything happening in the worship service at the original Tega Cay campus at 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday also will be happening at the Rock Hill/Catawba Campus. Additional preview services will be held March 12 and March 26.

The concept behind one pastor taking his message to multiple campuses is a growing trend. According to a study by the Leadership Network and Hartford Institute for Religion Research, 37 percent of U.S. megachurches reported having two or more locations under the same leadership in 2008. The October 2009 annual listing of the USA’s largest churches in Outreach Magazine reports of the country’s 100 largest churches, 67 percent have two or more sites and 60 percent of the fastest growing churches in the U.S. also have multiple sites.

“I’m so excited about building community in Catawba,” said Lana Shaw of Rock Hill. “Our women’s Thursday night Beth Moore studies have been very special and life-breathing. I’m hoping to develop real relationships with even more people from the area, as together we seek Jesus wholeheartedly.”

LCF holds weekly ladies Bible study Thursday evenings at the new campus, and Pastor Robert Rosales has been named campus pastor.

Lakeshore Christian Fellowship in Tega Cay is located at 130 Shoreline Pkwy. For more information, call 803-548-2755 or visit LakeshoreCF.com.
