News from LWAA: Clover group to play against Lake Wylie teams

York County Pop Warner: A new association from Clover will be playing this year in Pop Warner. The Clover association is projected to have five teams, and Lake Wylie will play them during the regular season. We are hoping to have a Junior Midget team with players combined from both areas. The Junior Midgets will play under Lake Wylie and players will be 12 years old and weigh less than 135 pounds, and 13 years old weighing less than 115.

Football and Cheer Registration: The first football and cheer registration will be at the Crowders Creek School carnival. Teams filled up early last year, and there were some players who did not get to participate. We suggest registering early. More information will be posted online at lwsports.org.

Challenger League Volunteers: LWAA last year offered a challenger league for disabled youth. More help is needed. No special training is required. We need people to volunteer to be a buddy on Saturday mornings. E-mail events@lwsports.org.

Spring Sports Opening Day: Soccer and baseball will celebrate the start of their seasons with an Opening Day celebration at 9 a.m. March 27 at Crowders Creek School. Team and individual pictures will be taken and we’ll have games, entertainment and food. Volunteers are needed to help organize this event. E-mail events@lwsports.org.

Upcoming Dates:

March 27: Spring Sports Opening Day
