FORT MILL --
Kane Family Chiropractic will host “Get your kids BACK on track” the week of Sept. 13.
Dr. Christopher Kane will check all students for scoliosis at no charge. Scoliosis is an unhealthy curve of the spine that can affect the nervous system and harm inner organs. It usually develops between the ages of 12 and 16.
“It’s very important to get your children checked regularly,” Kane said. “If scoliosis is left untreated, the spine may need to be braced or fused together, and this can have a major impact on quality of life.”
Kane also invites parents to bring their children’s backpacks in, so he can give tips on proper usage.
“Heavy backpacks worn incorrectly are a major cause of spinal misalignment in adolescents,” he said. “The pressure and stress on the spine can cause serious problems down the road.”
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 18, the office will host a fundraiser open to the public will to provide free services in exchange for a monetary donation. All proceeds will be given to the Fort Mill Care Center, a local nonprofit that helps supply basic necessities to families in need. Services provided include spinal exams for new members and adjustments for existing patients.
Appointments should be made for both events by calling 803-802-6637 or e-mailing drkane@kanechiropractic.com.
