LAKE WYLIE --

Someone stole 45 checks from a Lake Wylie business.

An employee with Lake Wylie Motors on Charlotte Highway reported he noticed the checks missing Wednesday, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.

While watching surveillance footage, he noticed two people come into the business Friday. One of them distracted an employee while the other is seen walking into an office. They leave moments later.

One of the checks was found in the parking lot of the Lowe's on Highway 557 Wednesday, the report states. It was made out to Best Buy in the amount of $502.88 and dated for Jan. 14. It was signed "B. Glover."

The bank has been notified, and the case is under investigation, the report states.
