York Place shares news at Lake Wylie Rotary meeting

LAKE WYLIE --

Joyce Sanders, assistant to the president of York Place, talked Jan. 17 to Lake Wylie Rotary Club at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church.

The community counseling center is faith-based, “and that’s very important to us,” she said.

New president Marco Tomat, with more than 12 years working with children and families with serious mental and behavior health concerns, also talked to the group. He replaced John Shiflet, who recently retired after a 10-year and distinguished career.

Tomat said he’s looking to expand on the group's mission to create a safe environment for children so they can heal by expanding services within five months into the homes to include the whole family.
