Oakridge Middle Academic team wins first match
LAKE WYLIE --
The Oakridge Middle Academic Challenge team played their first match of the year Jan. 18. Both teams claimed victories over the York Middle School teams.
The eighth graders won 200 to 60. Grayson Love led the team with 110 points. A.J. Ciurlik and Jack Sampson were the second highest scorers with 30 points each.
The seventh graders beat the York team 230 to 100. Top scorer for the seventh graders was J.D. Davidson with 120 points. The second high scorer for seventh grade was Clayton Jarema with 50 points.
Other members include Olivia Armstrong, Nathan Dubrouillet, Alexis Left, Eva Schmidt, Jacob Tankersley, Tyler Thomas, Elizabeth DeLange, Jackson Saftner and Bryce Galloway.
The team is sponsored by Augusta Bennett and Catherine Rodgers.
