LAKE WYLIE --
A water main break along S.C. 49 at the construction site for the QuickTrip lasted nearly half an hour Friday, prompting a shut down of water to several nearby businesses.
David Mathein, manager at T-Bones on the Lake, hoped that the problem would be fixed prior to business on the last Friday night before Valentine's Day.
“Not the ideal time,” he said.
So far work at the former Waterside Market Place site has brought the loss of a light pole and three water outages, though so far only minor ones, Mathein said.
“As far as this welcome to the neighborhood, this isn't good,” he said.
