FORT MILL --
The Fort Mill High School Concert Choir and Alumni will be the guest choir performing at St. Peters Basilica in Vatican City, Rome, on March 30.
The choir will perform at the 5 p.m. Mass.
Prior to leaving for Rome, the Fort Mill Concert Choir will be performing at St. Philip Neri Church on 292 Munn Rd. East, in Fort Mill on March 25, 2012 at the 11:30 a.m.
This is not a school-sponsored trip so it does not need school board approval, officials said.
While in Rome, the Fort Mill High Concert Choir, directed by Michael Dove, will also perform in the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as the Kallimarmaro, an athletic stadium in Athens that hosted the first modern Olympic games in 1896. Under Dove, the Fort Mill High School Concert Choir has achieved many national music awards in Mixed Choir, Mens Choir, Womens Choir and Show Choir. They have performed in New York City, Hollywood, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Honolulu.
