U.S. Congressman Mick Mulvaney will speak Friday, Feb. 24, during the Clover-Lake Wylie Republican Women meeting at River Hills Country Club.
He will present “Translating Washington,” in which he will address “the reality behind what folks in Washington say and what they do.”
A lifelong Carolinas resident, Mulvaney was elected in November 2010 to represent S.C. District 5. He is a member of the House Budget Committee and the Joint House/Senate Economic Committee. He co-authored the Cut, Cap, and Balance legislation passed in the House in July, and contributed to the Republican Study Committee Budget. He is chairman of the Small Business Committee’s subcommittee on Contracting and Workforce, as well as chairman of the Financial Services Task Force for the House Republican Conference Policy Committee.
Mulvaney practiced law with a Charlotte -based law firm from 1992 to 1997, and later established his own law practice. He has been owner/operator of the family homebuilding and real estate business. He was also a minority shareholder in a restaurant franchise company, and owned and operated his own restaurant.
An 11:30 a.m. social will be followed by lunch at noon and speaker at 12:30 p.m.
