Sheriff Bruce M. Bryant announces enrollment is open for the York County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy.
Participants will have opportunities to tour many of the Sheriff’s Office’s facilities and learn about the Uniformed Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations, the Drug Enforcement Unit, the K-9 Unit, and many other specialized units. The Citizen’s Academy will meet on Monday nights for 13 weeks starting at 6:30 p.m. March 5. Classes run until about 9 p.m.; optional classes may be offered on some Saturdays.
To enroll in the class, participants must be at least age 18 and pass a background investigation. An application for the Citizen’s Academy is available online at yorkcountysheriff.com or at a sheriff’s office. Submission deadline is Feb. 28.
