21.36 lbs. wins Carolina Angler’s Team Trail on Lake Wylie

Big fish of day weighed more than 7 pounds

— The Carolina Angler’s Team Trail saw 21 of 27 teams weigh in during its March 3 event on Lake Wylie.

Tim Chapman and Marc Leech won first place with 21.36 pounds, and the second big fish at 6.57 pounds.

Ken Cross and Eddie Smith finished second with 17.92, while David Redman and Clay Williams took third. Williams also caught the big fish at 7.19 pounds.

Fourth place went to Jimmy Bumgarner and Boots Wilson. In fifth place was Matt Haywood and Danny Cooper.

It was the third of five qualifiers on the Lake Wylie CATT trail held this spring.

Upcoming events are March 31 and April 7, with the final set for April 28.

The 2012 CATT Classic is May 5-6 at the Santee Cooper lakes.

A fall series on Wylie will be held Oct. 13, Nov. 10 and 17, and Dec. 8, with the final Dec. 15.
