The public is invited to attend the monthly meeting of the Clover-Lake Wylie Republican Women on May 25 at River Hills Country Club.
The program speakers will be S.C. State Rep. Gary Simrill (Dist. 46), Bruce Henderson, incumbent York County Councilman (Dist. 2), and opposing candidate John Rinehart.
Simrill will provide an update on happenings in the S.C. Legislature.
A graduate of Clover High School, Henderson is serving his first term as York County Councilman. He also has served on the Clover Town Council, Clover Economic Development Board and Clover Planning/Zoning Commission. Following a 17-year sales career, he joined R & B Painting and Property Preservation of Clover as part owner.
York County businessman John Rinehart Sr., a graduate of Appalachian State University and lifelong resident of York County, is chairman and founder of Rinehart Realty. He is a member of the Rock Hill Economic Development Board, the Board of Trustees for Westminster Towers, the Board of Directors of the Allison Creek Homeowners Association and the Winthrop University Community Advisory Board. He is a trustee and deacon at First Baptist Church, chairman of the ChristmasVille Festival, and served as past president of the Kiwanis Club, York County Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Old Town Association, Allison Creek Homeowners Association and as immediate past president of the Board of Governors for ChristmasVille. In 2010, he received the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce “Lifetime Business Achievement Award.”
An 11:30 a.m. social will be followed by lunch at noon, and speakers at 12:30 p.m. A question-and-answer session will conclude the program. Guests – both women and men – are invited, however reservations are required. Lunch costs $17 per person.
