Amber Kristan McCarter of Clover and Kenichiro Maeda of Myrtle Beach were married April 28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Fort Mill by the Rev. Jeffrey G. Bedwell, who officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Don McCarter of Clover, and the granddaughter of Buddy and Pat Connor, and Duke and Maxie McCarter.

The groom is the son of Koichiro Maeda from Columbia, and Keiko Maeda from Kyoto, Japan.

Amber and Ken graduated in 2008 from the University of South Carolina. They met six years ago at The Moore School of Business. She is currently employed at Yodle, a local online advertising firm in Charlotte. He is an account manager at Aerotek in Charlotte in the professional services staffing division.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of ivory satin and Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of cream and pink peonies and roses.

Her sister, Ciera McCarter, was her maid of honor.

The best man was Masaki Maeda, Ken’s brother.

They had 28 bridesmaids and groomsmen consisting of family members and friends, wearing fuchsia and sangria satin dresses, and black and silver tuxes.

The reception was held at The Palisades Country Club. The newlyweds honeymooned at Sandals Grand Antigua in St. Johns, Antigua.

The couple now resides in Fort Mill.
