LAKE WYLIE The next King of the Lake event is set for Saturday, May 26, followed by tournaments July 14, Oct. 6 and the championship Oct. 20. Launch and weigh-in are held at Buster Boyd Access Area.
The series is designed to test local anglers at different seasons and times of day, determining an overall top angler for the lake in 2012. The events are sponsored by Lake Wylie Bait & Tackle.

Lake Wylie Covekeepers meet monthly
LAKE WYLIE Lake Wylie Covekeepers meet at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at T-Bones on the Lake.
The Lake Wylie Covekeepers are volunteers who work with Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation to protect the river and Lake Wylie. Covekeepers provide input to public officials about proposals with the potential to impact Lake Wylie, organize cleanup events, collect water quality samples, identify violations of the environmental laws and educate the community about Lake Wylie.
Anyone interested in learning more about issues relating to Lake Wylie or sharing concerns about the Lake are welcome to attend the meetings.

At the end of each month, the biggest bass wins a $100 gift certificate. Cost is $5 to enter, and entries must be registered prior to weigh-in.

Scuba club dives
The Carolina Scuba & Adventure Club meets monthly at the Towne Tavern in Fort Mill. Club members will be participating in beach cleanups, including an underwater cleanup.
