LAKE WYLIE --

A former church clerk is accused of refusing to return a three-ring binder that contains records dating back to 2003 to a Lake Wylie church.

A member of Pine Grove Baptist Church on S.C. 557 reported to deputies that the clerk, who resigned from her position earlier this month, refuses to return the binder filled with minutes from the church’s meetings, according to a York County Sheriff’s report.

The complainant said he and the church’s former associate pastor asked the woman to return the binder, but she insists that she will keep the binder until she receives a videotape of the church voting, the report states.

Deputies called the woman, who maintained her position, the report states. Officers suggested that the man consult a magistrate.

No arrests were made.
