Church hosts Fall Festival Oct. 6
FORT MILL Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 1691 S.C. 160 W., will hold its annual fall festival from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday , Oct. 6, to raise money for missions.
A barbecue chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $8 for adults or $5 for children. There will be a bake sale, yard sale, children’s area, blood drive and more.

Bluegrass Thursday in York
YORK Allison Creek Bluegrass returns to the stage at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church, 5780 Allison Creek Road. The feature band will be The Griggs.

Marriage enrichment event Saturday
ROCK HILL West End Baptist Church, McConnells Highway, Rock Hill, will host a marriage enrichment event, “Ignite: Building Marriages for Life,” from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.
Greg and Deborah Brock will speak. The event, sponsored by the S.C. Baptist Convention and York Baptist Association, is open to the community.

Heritage series continues Sunday
LAKE WYLIE The Journey Church at Lake Wylie invites the community to David Barton’s video series, “The American Heritage,” running Sundays through Nov. 4. The series is appropriate for adults and children 12 and older.
The videos will be shown 9:15-10 a.m., with The Journey church service following from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Crowders Creek Elementary School, 5515 Charlotte Hwy.

Seminary leader talks about ‘Moses’ Oct. 9
STEELE CREEK Residents can learn about the Bible’s authorship, transmission and survival from internationally acclaimed experts as part of the “Passages” exhibition of rare biblical texts and artifacts at the former IBM headquarters, 8405 IBM Drive, Innovation Park.
The lecture series runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays through mid-February. Tonight, Dr. Daniel B. Wallace of Dallas Theological Seminary will talk about “Monks, Muslims and Manuscripts: The Story of Sinai.” On Oct. 9, Dr. Tim Laniak of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Steele Creek will talk about “Moses: Shepherd Leader and Torah Scribe.”

‘Soul Surfer’ showing Oct. 13
LAKE WYLIE Living Waters Church, 612 Bethel School Road, will host an outdoor Family Movie Night and free hot dog supper with roasted marshmallows beginning at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13.
“Soul Surfer” will be shown outdoors after sunset. Everyone is welcome; bring lawn chairs.
Fatima Rosary Crusade Oct. 13
LAKE WYLIE A Fatima Rosary Crusade will be held at noon Oct. 13 at All Saints Catholic Church.
The event is part of a nationwide 2012 Public Square Rosary Crusade. Last year, the America Needs Fatima campaign organized more than 7,515 Rosary Rallies. In 2012, the plan is for 8,000 rallies Oct. 13, the day God worked the miracle of the sun at Fatima, Portugal.

CBS is an international Bible study that is nondenominational and unaffiliated with any church, open to all women of all faiths.
