CLOVER Sweetgrass baskets is the topic of the Clover Woman’s Club meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Clover Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain Street. Frank Gadsen is the presenter. Sally Mann is the hostess.
From 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 21 the Clover Woman’s Club and the Clover 125 Year Committee will sponsor a tour of the early history of Clover called “The Ghost of Clover’s Past.”
The Little Blue Choo from Cherryville, N.C., will tour passengers around the earliest beginnings of Clover. Rob Pursley from Washington, D.C., will serve as guide. The Larne Building on Main Street will be open to purchase a ticket and for viewing a display of the way Clover was in the early days. The Napa Auto parts will serve as the station to board. Buy your tickets early and come early. Space is limited.
Tickets cost $10 or $5 for children 10 and younger. Tickets will be for sale at the Clover Town Hall, 114 Bethel St., and Good Things Consignment, 104 S. Main St.

on risky behaviors
YORK 4-H “Health Rocks!” training will be offered from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Clemson Extension Service office in York. This new curriculum teaches children ages 8 to 14 the skills to make good decisions about tobacco, alcohol, and drug use and to resist risky behaviors.

Lions get ready for Candy Days
TEGA CAY The Tega Cay Lions Club will hold its annual Candy Days donation drive, along with more than 5,000 Lions Club members across South Carolina, giving away free candy mints in exchange for donations Oct. 26-27 at Walmart and Harris Teeter in Tega Cay.
Local merchants and others interested in supporting the club’s effort are encouraged to purchase a case (240 rolls) of candy mints from a Lions Club member for $85.
