Lake Pointe wins state meet

Lake Pointe Academy’s cross country team ended its season by capturing several awards at the South Carolina Association for Christian Schools state meet.

The Lady Mariners varsity team won first place. Setting the pace was junior Hailey Willingham, who won first place for the women. In the men’s contest, sophomore Miller Gross finished second.

The state meet was held near Clemson, using the course of the event host, Southern Wesleyan University. This is the Lake Wylie private school’s second season fielding a cross country team.
