Church plans harvest sale Oct. 27 in Clover

October 23, 2012 

Oakdale Presbyterian Church, 12585 S.C. 55 W., will hold its annual harvest sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

Hash plates and hamburgers will be available. Hash also may be purchased in bulk. A large assortment of cakes and pies will be for sale.

Proceeds will go to the church building fund.

Temple service Friday

Temple Solel, a Reform Jewish Congregation, will hold its next service at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road, in the Ministry Building.

Services will be held the second and fourth Fridays of the month. The first service of the month will be a Kabbalat Shabbat. The second will be a Midrash Shabbat, or learners Shabbat.

Heritage series continues Sunday

The Journey Church at Lake Wylie invites the community to David Barton’s video series, The American Heritage, running Sundays through Nov. 4. The series is appropriate for adults and children ages 12 and older.

The videos will be shown 9:15-10 a.m., with The Journey church service following from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Crowders Creek Elementary School, 5515 Charlotte Hwy.

The series titles and dates they will be shown are as follows:

• Oct. 28: Evidence of America’s Spiritual Heritage

• Nov. 4: The Assault on Judeo-Christian Values

Harvest Fest

to be held Oct. 31

Relevant Church will hold a public Harvest Fest from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Oakridge Middle School parking lot.

The family-friendly event is non-scary with hay rides, face painter, trunk-or-treat cars, games and music. The event is free.

Craft Bazaar will be held Nov. 3

River Hills Community Church is having a Craft Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3.

Lakeside service to move inside

Relevant Church’s lakeside Sunday morning service that has been meeting at Buster Boyd Access Area throughout the summer, will be moving indoors Nov. 4.

The 9 a.m. casual worship service will meet at the Lake Wylie Bowl N’ Bounce at Lakeside West.

Arts & Craft sale Nov. 17

Good Samaritan United Methodist Church will hold its annual Arts & Crafts Bazaar form 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the church, 5220 Crowders Cove Lane. 2

Vendors will sell handmade items, including jewelry, Christmas items, pet supplies, ceramics and portraits.

Lake Wylie Lutheran hosts Community Cafe

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church, S.C. 160 W. and Gold Hill Road.

Scherer hosts moms

Scherer Presbyterian Church, 4800 Charlotte Hwy., hosts REST4Moms from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of the month. Mothers begin the morning with coffee, tea and goodies, followed by topics of interest, crafts, conversation and discussion.

Children are treated to crafts, snacks and playtime. Annual cost is $10.
