Clover cheerleaders selling rival T-shirts for Oct. 26 game

The Clover High School Varsity Cheerleaders are selling T-shirts to commemorate the 100th meeting of the Clover vs. York football game Oct. 26 in York. T-shirts are available in youth and adult sizes and must be ordered through a varsity cheerleader or by emailing mbshealy@gmail.com.

New York Giants fans get together in a special room reserved for game day at Madison’s on The Corner at the corner of Highway 160 West and Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill.

Fans can watch the game on a projection screen and several flat screens.

Enjoy a hot buffet for less than $10, or order from the menu. The group typically doesn’t meet for games shown in prime time.

Bills Backers meet at Towne Tavern

Buffalo Bills fans are invited to Towne Tavern at Fort Mill, home of the York County Buffalo Bills Backers Fan Club. Join fellow Bills fans in suite 160 and view all Buffalo Bills games on a 10-foot HD projection with theatre sound.

Registration open in Clover

Clover rec is registering for winter youth basketball, boys ages 3-18 and girls ages 3-12, through Oct. 26.

Register from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday at Clover Community Center, 120 Bethel St., or online at cloversc.org. Cost is $50 per child.

Follow Knights stadium progress

The Charlotte Knights have launched a ballpark webcam for fans to view the construction of BB&T Ballpark, the future home of the Knights.

The webcam is accessible from the team’s website, www.charlotteknights.com.

Photos of the construction process will be updated daily at the team’s official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.

Gobble Wobble Nov. 3

The Junior Welfare League’s second annual Gobble Wobble 8K and Fun Run will be held Nov. 3 in Rock Hill.

The 8K race is certified and follows a scenic course from Main Street to Winthrop Lake before returning to the finish line in historic Old Town.

The 8K starts at 8 a.m.; fun run starts at 8:15 a.m. Proceeds benefit All American Athletes, a nonprofit that provides sports leagues for children with disabilities.

Registration costs $25 for 8K through Oct. 20.

Cross country win

The Palisades Episcopal School cross country team is celebrating its first win of the season. The team beat eight other schools to bring home the victory recently, and there were some stellar performances from several students.

Grant Stadler placed first overall, Jack Zeller placed fourth overall and Max Gilbert placed seventh overall out of 108 students.

Memorial tourney Nov. 1

The second annual Clifton Carter Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Discoveries Soccer Club, will be held Nov. 1 at the Waterford Golf Club.
