Get ready for Lake Wylie’s annual Holiday Boat parade Dec. 15

November 5, 2012

— The lake will light up Dec. 15 with one of Lake Wylie Chamber of Commerce’s most popular events – the 24th annual “Lights on the Lake” Holiday Boat Parade.

Boaters are encouraged to deck their bows and join the parade.

Awards will be presented to the participant with the most creative lighting display. There will be first-, second- and third-place winners. Other prizes, donated by area businesses, will also be given.

The parade begins at 6:30 p.m., and the parade route spans both sides of the Buster Boyd Bridge.

Early registration by Dec. 13 costs $20, or $25 after and same-day.

Boats will meet at 6 p.m. at T-Bones on the Lake docks near Buster Boyd Bridge for a boat captains meeting on event chair, Nancy Bedgood’s, 75-foot houseboat. Bedgood is owner of Light-N-Up Houseboat.

Registration forms and more information are available by calling 803-831-2827, emailing or visiting
