LAKE WYLIE River Hills Lions Club donated $500 to the Oakridge Middle School anti-bullying program.
To show support for the Rachel’s Challenge message, Lions attended the Rachel’s Challenge assembly in September and the Friends of Rachel Walk Oct. 19, when Clover High, Clover and Oakridge middle schools and Blue Eagle Academy combined their chains of kindness (each link represented an act of kindness) at Clover Memorial Stadium before the football game.
Rachel Joy Scott was one of the first students killed in the Columbine High School tragedy. Using Rachel’s diary, her family has immortalized her message of tolerance and caring to help prevent future tragedies.
