LAKE WYLIE --
Operation Mayday held its second annual golf tournament Oct. 10 to benefit a variety of organizations working with child homelessness. The event at River Hills Country Club raised $23,000.
“We doubled last year’s income,” said organizer Val Harris. “We had a very successful tournament.”
Aided are programs run through the Clover School District, where more than 80 homeless students were identified last year, and other local nonprofits.
