CLOVER --
The Clover High School Girls Golf Team finished their season at the Upper State Tournament Oct. 22.
Jordie Sowell was the low scorer, followed by Addison Sanford. Alyssa Campbell, Chelsea Carpenter and Lauren Ashley Shillinglaw also played for the Blue Eagles.
The region golf tournament was held Oct. 15 at Lancaster Golf Club. Clover High School finished second with a score of 361 and qualified for the Upper State Tournament Oct. 22 at Smithfield Country Club in Easley.
Sanford, an eighth-grader at Clover Middle School, and Jordie Sowell, a senior at CHS, both made the all region team finishing sixth and seventh, respectfully, in the tournament.
Clover wrapped up their regular season with a record of 13-3-1.
“The team has really come together this year, said coach Lyn Harper. “We have great senior leadership from Jordie Sowell and Lauren Ashley Shillinglaw.
“Also, two middle school players have really contributed. Addison Sanford has been a medalist in several of our matches and Alyssa Campbell, a seventh-grader, has been very steady with her play and has been a consistent No. 3 scorer for us,” she said. “Rounding out the top four for us scorewise has been Chelsea Carpenter, a junior.”
