Fort Mill parade

Garden tour

Horticultural Highlight Walks, 1 p.m. Dec. 1 and Dec. 15, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont. Led by garden staff, learn about new developments and installations, note favorite plants and share behind-the-scenes details. Each walk is a unique experience. Make a wreath

Gingerbread contest

Tega Cay’s first Gingerbread House contest, Dec. 1, lower level of the Glennon Community Center. Entries can be simple or detailed, and will be judged on use of candy, creativity and overall appearance. Completed entries must be delivered between 4:30-5:30 p.m. and will be judged during the city’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting. The contest is open to the public. Make cards

Canning class

Holiday Canning 101 Class Adult-Youth Partnership, 4-6 p.m. Dec. 4, 120 N. Congress St., York. Class fee: $20.; registered 4-H members receive a discount. Use a water bath canner to prepare apple preserves and learn to use a jam maker to make holiday jam. Maximum limit for class: 6 partnerships. Tree planting

Anniversary tree planting, 4 p.m. Dec. 7, New Centre Park, Clover. In observance of Arbor Day, the town will be planting a special tree at its new park.

Love Lights

Animal Adoption League’s annual Love Lights Luminarias, 5-8 p.m. Dec. 8, in front of the Lakeview Acres Neighborhood on Celanese Road, Rock Hill. Light a luminaria in honor or in memory of a special person or pet for a donation of $4 per luminaria. Upon request an acknowledgement card will be sent for an additional $1 per luminaria. Tour of homes

30th annual York Holiday Tour of Historic Homes and Buildings, 4-8 p.m. Dec. 8 and 3-7 p.m. Dec. 9, presented by The Yorkville Historical Society.
