Christmas Bible school event Dec. 1 at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church

Lake Wylie Lutheran Church is hosting its annual Christmas Bible School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, for children ages 3 (potty-trained) through third grade.

Christmas Bible School includes a combination of Bible stories, music, crafts and games. A morning snack and lunch will be served. Parents are encouraged to join at 12:45 p.m. to hear the children sing.

There also will be a cookie decorating social at 1 p.m.

The event is free, but space is limited. Register online at lakewylutheran.org. Donations accepted.

Non-perishable food items and toiletries will be collected for Fort Mill Care Center.

All Saints marks holiday season

The Knights of Columbus, All Saints Council 14475, is sponsoring its annual Light Up For Christ at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at All Saints Catholic Church, 530 S.C. 274, to celebrate the beginning of Advent and the 2012 Christmas season.

In addition to the lighting of the All Saints Catholic Church tree lighting, this year’s guest speaker will be Dwight Longenecker.

The event is free and open to everyone.

Angel Tree guardians needed

The All Saints Knights of Columbus Respect For Life and Faith Formation ministries of All Saints Catholic Church seek guardians to adopt angels from its Angel Tree.

Individual angel tree gifts need to be brought to the church by Dec. 5. For more information, call 803-746-5198 or 803-810-5122.

First Baptist plans Santa brunch

First Baptist Church, 102 S. Congress St., will serve brunch with Santa from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 8 in the fellowship hall.

Cost is $6 per child, which includes a picture with Santa, brunch, craft and a Christmas story read by Santa.

Cost also is $6 for adults, which includes the brunch only.

Children younger than age 6 must be with an adult. Tickets are limited, and proceeds support the church’s mission camp expenses. Call 803-684-4297.

Holiday raffle Dec. 18

Pleasant Hill Preschool is having a holiday raffle Dec. 18.

Prizes include a children’s party package at Carolina Stars, gift cards to local restaurants and businesses, and other themed-gift baskets.
