Winter series bass tourney Dec. 1 on Lake Wylie

Denver Marine Monster Bass Invitational Winter Trail Series on Lake Wylie began Nov. 10.

With eight tournaments in all the next event is Saturday, Dec. 1. Launch at 8 a.m. and weigh-in at 3 p.m. Buster Boyd Access Area. Other dates are Dec. 22, Jan. 5, Jan. 12, Jan. 19 and Jan. 26. The fish off Feb. 2 is a guaranteed $5,000 payouts with a field of 75.

The Catawba Catfish Club’s 2012-13 tournaments schedule continues:

March 2, Fishing Creek Reservoir, Hwy. 21 Access

• Championship event for Catawba Catfish Club, May 4-5, Lake Wylie, Ebenezer Park

Get ready for boat parade

The 24th annual “Lights on the Lake” Holiday Boat Parade will be held Dec. 15 on Lake Wylie.

Boaters are encouraged to deck their bows and join this annual Lake Wylie Chamber of Commerce parade.

Awards will be presented to the participant with the most creative lighting display. There will be first-, second- and third-place winners.

The parade begins at 6:30 p.m., and the parade route spans both sides of the Buster Boyd Bridge.

Early registration by Dec. 13 costs $20, or $25 after and same day.

Boats will meet at 6 p.m. at T-Bones on the Lake docks near Buster Boyd Bridge Access Area for a boat captains meeting on event chair, Nancy Bedgood’s, 75-foot houseboat. Bedgood is owner of Light-N-Up Houseboat.

Boating, fishing shows announced

The Bass & Saltwater Fishing Expo is scheduled Jan. 11-13 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

Three seminar rooms operate simultaneously every hour on the hour during the show. Saltwater anglers are introduced to regional and local professionals who fish the North Carolina coastal waters almost every day.

Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission, good for all three days with return pass, costs $8 for adults, $7 for seniors 60 and older and military, $5 for junior anglers ages 6-12. Tickets are available in advance online at ncboatshows.com.

Mark your calendar for the annual Mid-Atlantic Boat Show is scheduled Feb. 7-10 at Charlotte Convention Center, Charlotte. Billed as the largest marine product event in the Carolinas, several Lake Wylie area businesses participate.

The Central Carolina Boat & Fishing Expo will be held Feb. 22-24 at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro.
