Lake Wylie and Clover clubs meet holiday needs

CLOVER --

Retired Old Men Eating Out, ROMEO, presented a $1,500 check to Clover School District and the Clover Jaycees recently while enjoying breakfast at Hardee’s. The money will be used to purchase gifts for children in need.

This year, the groups aim to serve nearly 500 children whose families have applied for assistance. This effort follows the district-led Thanksgiving meal delivery in which community groups provided dinners for 131 families and 593 household members over the break Those groups include Living Waters Church, River Hills Community Church, St. James United Methodist Church, Lake Wylie Rotary Club, The Bridge Community Church and The Journey Church.

Lake Wylie Rotary Club donated 30 turkeys to families in need.
