BASKETBALL

PES Gryphons

sit at 3-0

The Palisades Episcopal School Gryphons Basketball Team is now 3-0 for the season, after two big victories last week.

Nov. 27, the team beat Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy 47-12 with Max Gilbert and Grant Stadler leading the team, each with double digit scoring.

All players contributed to a great win, followed by another victory Thursday against the Countryside Montessori School Mustangs. The Gryphons were down 20-15 at the end of the first half but were very confident going into the second half. PES returned to the court on fire and scored six consecutive points in the first 30 seconds of the second half. The Gryphons never looked back.

Grant Stadler led in scoring and rebounds, and Max Gilbert also helped to seal the win by making two free throws to put the team up by five. This game was a tough, physical game against a rival and marked the team’s most complete game to date. The final score was 41-36.
