Warriors of Fire bikers come bearing gifts to Fort Mill pregnancy center

Motorcycles were heard from inside Palmetto Pregnancy Center on Nov. 17, as the Warriors of Fire rode into the Peachtree Plaza parking lot.
Warriors of Fire, Rock Hill’s Christian motorcyclist association, toured the not-for-profit facility and learned more about the needs of expecting parents in the Fort Mill Township.
The Warriors were briefed on Palmetto Pregnancy Center’s resources for planned and unplanned pregnancies and opportunities to volunteer at the center.
“The center’s mission is to enable women and men to choose life and have hope for the future,” said Trudy Laub, executive director of Palmetto Pregnancy Center.
On-site professionals host parenting classes, anger resolution classes, abortion recovery and sexual healing groups as well as a 24-hour helpline. The center presents medical information on pregnancy, abortion and adoption.
Expecting mothers can also receive free pregnancy tests and ultra sounds by appointment.
“We provide information so they can make educated choices,” said Laub. “That’s what we’re here for.”
The motorcyclists of Warriors of Fire have a mission of their own.
“The Christian Motorcyclist Association is an interdenominational group. Its purpose is to promote the kingdom of God and to assist people in need,” said Bob Lawson, who has ridden with the group for six years.
This mission brought the association to Palmetto Pregnancy Center to give support to the volunteers and bring awareness to the community of available resources for parents in all circumstances.
The Warriors donated diapers, clothes, and other infant necessities.
“We have a system where parents can earn diapers, clothes, and toys for their baby, so these donations are really important,” said Becky Donovan, director of the Fort Mill center.
To close the morning, all of the motorcyclists and volunteers at the center came together in prayer.
