Business Spotlight: Classic Salon

Focus on: Classic Salon, 4937 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie.

Owner: Crystal Carr, owner since 2009.

What’s new: Classic Salon has expanded its services to include facials and massage, and the addition of staff member Marietta DiTommaso, a licensed massage therapist for 16 years.

Services offered: Massages include relaxation massage, medical and therapeutic massage, and spa work. Deep tissue and pain relief are two specialty areas.

Carr will offer facials that cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize the skin in 30-, 60- or 90-minute treatments.

Other services offered at the salon include facial waxing, hair smoothing, and updo’s, as well as haircuts, perms and color.

Brief background: DiTommaso relocated her practice from Lake Wylie Assisted Living to Classic Salon. She moved to the South Carolina in August 2011 after practicing 14 years in Florida. She was voted Best Massage Therapist in Lake Wylie for 2012 in Lake Wylie Pilot’s “Best Of” reader poll.

Clover native Carr has been with Classic Salon four years. She has two stylists: Christy McMahan, with 12 years experience, and Kelli Cannon, who has eight years with the salon.

Community involvement: Classic Salon is a member of Lake Wylie Chamber of Commerce, participating in the annual fashion show. DiTommaso is president of Friends in Business of Lake Wylie. She will be offering 30-, 60-, and 90-minute massages, reflexology work, paraffin and spa treatments, and hot stone massage.
