GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. --
Local college anglers head to Lake Guntersville on Saturday for the FLW College Fishing Southeastern Conference. Fifty college teams will be competing for a top award of $2,000 and a berth in the Southeastern Conference Invitational tournament.
Among the anglers are Matthew Garvin and Hunter Cockram, both of York, from Clemson University and Zack Davis of Rock Hill and Hampton Anderson of Anderson from University of South Carolina.
Anglers will take off at 6:30 a.m. from the Lake Guntersville State Park at 7966 Alabama Hwy. 227. Weigh-in will be held at the park beginning at 12:30 p.m. Takeoff and weigh-in are free and open to the public.
College Fishing is free to enter. All participants must be registered, full-time undergraduate students at a four-year college or university and members of a fishing club recognized by their college or university.

Youth championship March 23 on Murray
The first S.C. Department of Natural Resources Youth Bass Fishing Championship will be held March 23 on Lake Murray.
Anglers in middle and high school can send up to six anglers to fish in two-man teams. Each team will share their boat with an adult volunteer.
