Gaston Day student from Lake Wylie earns Gold in

GASTONIA -- 

Several Gastonia Day School students earned gold, silver and honor mentions in the Mid-Carolina Regional Scholastic Art Awards competition, including Holland Haag of Lake Wylie.

More than 2,600 individual entries and more than 90 senior portfolios were entered in a 18 county region. Gaston Day received 23 awards.

Each teacher is allowed to send in 20 students’ work. Each of the 20 students can submit two works.

Seniors Portfolios have eight pieces of art that shows a body of related work. Gold Key Portfolios are a Body of work. Gold Individual are single works not related to each other.

Haag won the Senior-Gold Portfolio competition with photography and ink work, as well as one gold, three silvers and two honorable mentions for Scholastic Individual Awards.
