LAKE WYLIE --

Cherry, an Asian fusian restaurant, opens today at Lakeside West shopping center off Charlotte Highway, near Buster Boyd Bridge.

The restaurant includes a bar and dining room seating, and room for about 60 diners at three hibachi grills. There’s also a large deck that’s been added on facing the lake.

“The summertime is going to be big because of the patio,” said Alex Bui, assistant manager. “When the weather gets better, people will want to sit outside.”

As of opening today, the restaurant is still waiting on its liquor license. There will be a range of traditional and Japanese drinks offered. There are two televisions and the restaurant will stay open late on weekends once the bar is up and running.

Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Bar hours will vary.
