River Hills Lions Club honors Dick Pastor for humanitarian services

— The River Hills Lions Club recently presented Dick Pastor with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Lions International recognizes outstanding individuals with this honor.

The Melvin Jones Fellowship is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism and the motto “We Serve.”

Pastor has been a member of the River Hill Lions Club for several decades, and his passion for helping others has positively affected hundreds of individuals. Pastor has chaired and worked on many events, including the River Hills Directory, golf tournament, benefit dinners, Christmas tree sales and other events.

Most recently, he helped organize the pancake breakfast with Father Christmas during the holidays.

Pastor is a member of the River Hills Lions Board of Directors and has held many leadership roles, including 3rd vice president and membership co-chair. He also served on the sight, calling, nominating and Lion Tamer committees.
