Community Blood Center of the Carolinas has scheduled the following blood drives this month:

• March 9 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Rock Hill Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., 801 Crawford Road, Rock Hill.

Parade entries due Friday

Come-See-Me Festival seeks parade entries for the 50th annual event at 6:30 p.m. April 11.

Entries may represent any decade from the 1960s to today. The Parade Committee will review for creativity and theme adherence. Download the parade form at comeseeme.org. Entry forms are due at noon Friday, March 8. Entry fee costs $30, due by April 1.

Lowe’s offers clinics for Habitat’s Women Build

As the national partner of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program, Lowe’s in Rock Hill is offering free training clinics for women interested in volunteering with the Women Build.

The following training clinics are scheduled 8-9 a.m.:

• Sunday, March 10 – How to install exterior siding (and light overview of framing)

• April 7 – How to install insulation and drywall

• May 5 – How to finish interior with paint and trim

• June 2 – How to frame walls and roof (conducted offsite at Habitat for Humanity ReStore)

Upcoming events are planned to help the Humane Society of York County.

Trip to artist’s Asheville home

As a culmination to the exhibition, “A Life in the Woods: the Paintings of Sallie Middleton,” the Museum of York County is hosting a visit from 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. April 16 to Asheville, N.C., home to the artist and her family.

Depart from the Museum of York County with a late morning arrival in Asheville. Lunch on your own.

After a tour through the Asheville Art Museum followed by a walking tour focusing on the architectural and art deco works of Sallie’s uncle, Douglas Ellington, the tour will stop at the childhood home of Middleton. The “Ellington House” is being restored by Middleton’s daughter.

Cost is $50 for CHM members or $75 non-members. Cost includes transportation via mini-bus, museum admission, snacks and all fees. Call 803-909-7591. Deadline is March 15.
