Clover school board looks to fill seat

March 4, 2013

— The Clover School District Board of Trustees is discussing a timeline to fill the seat formerly held by Barbara Parrish, who died late last month at the age of 74.

The now vacant seat represents an area of the district south of Highway 49 and along the Highway 274 corridor. A map showing the geographic area for each of the board seat is available online at www.clover.k12.sc.us/board.

To be eligible to apply for the vacant seat, applicants must live in the area designated for seat 5 and have maintained residency in the area for at least one year, and meet all other eligibility guidelines set by the York County Election Commission.

Anyone interested in filling the remaining time of Parrish’s unexpired four-year term, which ends November 2014, must submit a cover letter and an application, available online at the district’s website, explaining his or her qualifications and desire to serve on the board. The letter should include positive contributions he or she can bring to the board. The deadline to submit an application is 5 p.m. March 18, or until a suitable candidate is found.

Applications and letters of interest may be mailed to Clover School District, Attn: Board Search, 604 Bethel St., Clover, SC 29710, or emailed to csd.board@clover.k12.sc.us.
