Rock Hill angler places in the money
PROSPERITY Todd Lawrence of Rock Hill placed fifth with five bass weighing 20 pounds, 15 ounces for $667 at the March 2 Walmart Bass Fishing League South Carolina Division event on Lake Murray.

UNC Charlotte team wins college tourney
GUNTERSVILLE The University of North Carolina Charlotte team of Eric Self of Lawndale and Shane Lehew of Charlotte won the FLW College Fishing Southeastern Conference event on Lake Guntersville with five bass weighing 23 pounds, 14 ounces. The victory earned the club $2,000 and advanced the team to the FLW College Fishing Southeastern Conference Invitational tournament.

Both Lehew and Self are seniors at UNC Charlotte and are majoring in criminal justice. Both are fishing BFL events in 2013, in addition to their college tournaments.

Boating grant workshop March 20
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources will be administering the National Boating Infrastructure Grant Program in South Carolina.
The BIG program provides grant funding to construct, renovate and maintain tie-up facilities with features for transient boaters in vessels 26 feet or more in length. Examples include floating docks, fixed piers, breakwaters, fueling stations and dockside utilities.
The workshop will be from 2 to 5 p.m. March 20 at the DNR’s Marine Center, Ft. Johnson in Charleston.
