World Cafe event April 9 in Charlotte

The National Association of Women Business Owners, Charlotte Chapter will present the annual World Café featuring eight guest speakers and eight topics from 5 to 7:30 tonight, April 9, at Byron’s South End, 101 W. Worthington Ave., suite 110.

Each speaker will preside at an eight-person roundtable, and attendees can choose to sit at the table of their choice, and hear from that expert for about 20 minutes. Attendees will rotate three times.

The roster of guest speakers are: Amber Sisley and Donnell Dawson of Wells Fargo, “Credit for the Small Business;” Sheldon Osborne of Wells Fargo, “Payroll Services for the Small Business;” Catherine Burton of Charlotte Business Journal, “Lead Generation;” Fern Howerin of Today’s Charlotte Woman, “Partnerships/Value-Added Advertising;” John DiCristo of Boostability, “Boosting Business in a Digital World;” Jon Szymanski of Click Com, “The Power of Mobile Apps for Small Business;” Barbara Ivey of Optimized Offices, “The Email Therapist Is In;” Sybil Melton, Insphereis and BNI, “The 1-Minute Elevator Pitch.”

Allen Tate named in Carolinas’ top

Allen Tate Co. was named top real estate firm based in the Carolinas and ranks No. 8 among the country’s largest independently owned, non-franchised brokers, and No. 14 among all brokers, based on closed transactions sides for 2012, according to the REAL Trends 500 report.

The annual report, which ranks the country’s top 500 real estate firms, is produced by REAL Trends, the nation’s leading publisher of trends and analysis of the residential real estate brokerage industry. Allen Tate Co. closed 15,932 transaction sides in 2012.

Golf sponsorships are available now

Sponsorships are available for the Family Trust Federal Credit Union’s fourth annual Charity Golf Tournament for the Children’s Attention Home, the Palmetto School at the Children’s Attention Home Charter School, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of York County.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. May 21 at the Tega Cay Golf Club on Molokai Drive.

Sponsor levels range from $1,000 to $5,000 and include registration for four.

Hole sponsorships start at $100. The deadline is May 3.

Entry fee is $400 per team and includes carts, green fees, beverages and lunch.

The Children’s Attention Home was established in 1970 and provides emergency residential shelter and support services for abused, neglected, and abandoned children from birth through 21 years.

The charter school is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade who live at the home.

The Boys & Girls Clubs provides after-school programs in Rock Hill and Fort Mill and camps during the summer and spring break.

New shop accepting consignment appointments

Echo Consignment Boutique, an upscale consignment and retail store, is accepting consignments by appointment.

The store is open at the Landing Station Shopping Center (Bi-Lo shopping center at S.C. 49 and 274).

Lake Wylie residents Linda Watkins, former owner of Anytime Fitness in Lake Wylie, and Chrissy Pellegrino opened the store because they see a “growing desire for more shopping opportunities in Lake Wylie.”

In addition to brand name women’s and children’s apparel, Echo will carry specialty lines such as maternity clothing and formal wear, as well as home decor and furnishings.
