Join Fun 4 Four tennis tournament May 31-June 2 in Lake Wylie

Registration is open for the Fun 4 Four tennis tournament at River Hills Country Club being held May 31-June 2. You do not have to be a member of River Hills Country Club to play. Format is team of four players (two men and two women).

Play men’s doubles, ladies doubles and two mixed doubles matches. Play each team in your flight: 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0 or 8.5/9.0. Each doubles will be a regular set with a tiebreaker at 5-5.

Cost is $55 per person and includes complimentary lunch each day, beverages, tournament T-shirt and prizes for top team in each flight. Applications are available at riverhillscc.org. Call 803-831-1493 for more information.

Club holding junior tennis programs

River Hills Country Club’s after-school Junior Tennis Program for children ages 4 and older runs through June 6.

Students may register for one or two days per week.

Class schedule is:

• Tiny Tots, for age 4-6, 3:30-4:15 p.m., Monday and Wednesday.

• Future Stars, for ages 7-9, 4:30-5:30 p.m., Monday and Wednesday.

• Superstars, for ages 10-13, 4:30-6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday.

• Middle and high school, for ages 13 and older, 5:30-7 p.m., Monday and Wednesday.

Splash Dash

June 8 at Wylie

The Lake Wylie Chamber of Commerce’s Splash Dash 10K and 5K will be June 8 at River Hills Plantation.

The races begin at 8 a.m. CMC-Steele Creek is the premiere sponsor.

Camps offered

in June, July

Clover High School boys basketball coach Bailey Jackson announces two summer camps for youth.

“Little Eagles” basketball camp from 9-11:30 a.m. June 10-13 at Clover High School for students who have completed grades K5-sixth. The cost is $55.

Along with the Clover Recreation Department, the third annual Basketball 101 Academy will be held from 9-11 a.m. July 8-11 at Oakridge Middle School for students who have completed K5-seventh grade. The cost is $50.

Play for children June 7 in York

The Gene Knight “Play for the Child” Golf Tournament will be June 7 at Spring Lake Country Club.

Registration is at 9:30 a.m. with an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Prizes are at 4 p.m.

Entry fee costs $100 per person, which includes greens fee, cart, flight prizes, two mulligans, two closest to the pin, barbecue and a York Place golf shirt.

The Might Acts Golf Tournament of Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church will be held June 8 at Carolina Crossing Golf Club, 140 Carolina Crossing Drive, York.

Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Format is captain’s choice.

There will be prizes for lowest team score, longest drive, closest to the pin, hole-in-one and putting contest.

Driving range, with bucket of balls included, opens at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon.

The River Hills Lions Club’s annual Memorial Celebration Golf Tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. June 17 at River Hills Country Club.

Registration and lunch start at 11 a.m.

There will be an awards dinner and “skill” contests at 5:30 p.m.

Contests include putting and hole-in-one, as well as two skills contests of distance and accuracy for three shots at $10.
