Christ the King’s summer camp signup open in Steele Creek

Registration is open for two summer camps at Christ the King Church, 13501 S. Tryon St.

Camp Sonshine will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m. June 17-20 for 3-year-olds through rising kindergarteners, who will make crafts, go on nature hikes, hear Bible stories, sing songs and more. The cost is $75.

Camp Agape will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 5-9 for rising first- through fifth-graders, who will play games, sing songs, make crafts, nature activities, Bible studies and more. The cost is $100.

Parents Night Out fun runs June 21

Christ the King, 13501 S. Tryon St., is offer Parents Night Out Summer Fun – Focusing on the Son on June 21.

Children ages birth to sixth grade are invited. There will be crafts, songs, games, Bible stories and a snack.

Steele Creek Bible camp

June 24-27

Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church is holding God’s Backyard Bible Camp under the stars June 24-27.

Classes are offered for children and parents. Dinner is provided each evening.

Community Cafe serving lunch

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

New Beginnings seeks volunteers

Volunteers are needed for God’s Kitchen, a ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church, which delivers meals to at least 120 shut-ins each day.

Volunteers also are being sought for the Lighthouse Thrift Store, which helps provide housing for the homeless. Volunteers will help with daily operations, including delivery, pickup and sorting donations.

Church hosts free exercise classes

Free exercises classes are offered Mondays at Christ the King Church, 13501 S. Tryon St. Class is taught by Kathryn Webner, registered nurse, health fitness specialist and a personal trainer.

The Beginner Strength & Conditioning Class is from 5:30 to 6 p.m. targeting balance, endurance and improved muscular strength. This class is appropriate for seniors, the non-exerciser, or someone recovering from an injury. The Group Circuit Class from 6 to 7 p.m. is designed to improve total body strength and cardiovascular fitness. This class ifs offered for all fitness levels, 12 years and older. Bring a mat, towel and water.

Get help with grieving process

Ultimate Life Church on Carowinds Boulevard offers support for people coping with losses in life such as divorce, death, jobs, loved ones, dreams, friends. Groups meet at 7 p.m. the first and fourth Fridays of each month. Call 803-329-1396.

Singles groups meets Tuesdays

New River Community Church is holding two singles groups, both meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesdays.

• FUSION is for anyone out of high school to age 24. The group meets at a member’s home in York. Singles can build friendships through studying God’s Word, serving in the community, having fun, and discussing challenges of life.

• Singles Gatherings is for adults ages 25 and older. The group meets at the church, 133 Carroll Cove Road. Connection and Bible study are the primary focuses. Child care is provided for children 10 and younger.

Scherer hosts moms

Scherer Presbyterian Church, 4800 Charlotte Hwy., hosts REST4Moms from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of the month.

Mothers begin the morning with coffee, tea and goodies, followed by topics of interest, crafts, conversation and discussion. Children are treated to crafts, snacks and playtime. Annual cost is $10.
