Lions golf tourney honors members
LAKE WYLIE River Hills Lions Club Memorial Celebration Golf Tournament will be held June 17 at River Hills Country Club honoring six former Lions for their dedicated service to the organization, and who lost their lives in the last several months.
Tournament format will be Captain’s Choice. Prizes include a $20,000 boat for the first hole-in-one on Hole No. 11, a trip for two to Las Vegas, a one-week stay at a resort condominium, and $2,500 each for the man and woman lucky or skilled enough to make a 60-foot putt. There also will be bonus prizes for holes-in-one on the other par 3s.

Master Gardener applications accepted
YORK Clemson Extension Service is taking applications for the Master Gardener Class. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays Aug. 6-Nov. 12 at the Clemson Extension Office, 120 N. Congress St.
The program is open to all adults, regardless of gardening experience. Participants learn about all aspects of gardening from soils, to growing vegetables, fruits, trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns.
Class costs $300. In addition to the fee, participants must volunteer a minimum of 40 hours in service to the community.
