Pleasant Hill plans VBS

Pleasant Hill Church, 15000 York Road, Charlotte, will host an “Everywhere Fun Fair” Vacation Bible School June 24 to 27. The event will take children to a global celebration with the look and feel of a world’s fair.

The children will “travel” to Japan, Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Australia and Mexico, where they will experience other cultures while learning about God’s mission for the world and his love.

Dinner will be at 6 p.m. each night and classes will be at 6:20 p.m. A nursery will be provided for infants and toddlers. Adults may attend a special worship service June 27. Sign up at or call 704-588-0686.

Christ the King hosting camps

Christ the King Church, 13501 S. Tryon St., is offering two summer camps:

Camp Sonshine will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m. June 17-20 for 3-year-olds through rising kindergarteners, who will make crafts, go on nature hikes, hear Bible stories, sing songs and more. The cost is $75.

Camp Agape will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 5-9 for rising first- through fifth-graders, who will play games, sing songs, make crafts, nature activities, Bible studies and more. The cost is $100.

Parents Night Out June 21

Christ the King, 13501 S. Tryon St., is offer Parents Night Out Summer Fun – Focusing on the Son on June 21.

Children ages birth to sixth grade are invited. There will be crafts, songs, games, Bible stories and a snack.

Preschool registration open

Christ the King Preschool registration is under way for children ages 2 to 4.

Registration fee costs $125 for all students. three-day class tuition costs $220 per month. Four-day classes cost $250 per month for 3 and 4 year olds only.

Singles groups meets Tuesdays

New River Community Church is holding two singles groups, both meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesdays.

FUSION is for anyone out of high school to age 24. The group meets at a member’s home in York.

Singles can build friendships through studying God’s Word together, serving in the community, having fun, and discussing challenges of life.

• Singles Gatherings is for adults ages 25 and older.

The group meets at the church, 133 Carroll Cove Road. Connection and Bible study are the primary focuses. Child care is provided for children 10 and younger.

Volunteers are needed for God’s Kitchen, a ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church, which delivers meals to at least 120 shut-ins each day.
