What Weekly means for Wylie

June 10, 2013

A few weeks ago I noticed new home construction at The Shoppes at The Landing near the Bi-Lo grocery store. This section of Lake Wylie has sat empty for years, long after the timber and forest was cut down for development.

Over the years several builders considered plans for this community.

With national home builder David Weekly Homes coming back to Lake Wylie, the new neighborhood, The Cottages at The Landing, will finally see activity.

The 25 home-site community is oriented toward maintenance free, main-level living. Floor plans include single-story ranch plans and two-story plans with the master bedroom on main level. There also is a two-story plan with master upstairs available. Exterior landscaping will be maintained by the homeowner’s association.

David Weekly Homes also offers accessible living customizations for special needs. The smaller homes sites are situated with rear-entry garages, emphasizing a friendly, front porch lifestyle and open community setting.

The new housing options are a great advantage to our real estate market. Home buyers who may have previously focused on specific Tega Cay or Fort Mill neighborhoods will now have similar options here in Lake Wylie. Increased options and diversity is another great step toward increasing Lake Wylie’s ability to attract potential homeowners.

David Weekly showcase and models homes are to be completed by mid-June. It will be exciting to watch our newest Lake Wylie neighborhood grow.
