Ballroom Dance meets Friday

The Ballroom Dance Club will hold a dance from 7:30 to 10:20 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the Country Club Golf House, 101 Country Club Drive.

All adult ages and skill levels are invited for Social Ballroom Dancing to ballroom music by DJ Rich Brausch.

Dress code is dressy casual; no jeans. Dances are alcohol free; non-alcoholic beverages are provided.

Genealogical society to meet Saturday

The York County Genealogical and Historical Society will have its annual business meeting and summer social at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Love home, 390 Love St.

There will be several historical interpretations of former York residents.

Rotary to install new officers

Lake Wylie Rotary Club will install new officers at the noon June 25 meeting at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5220 Crowders Cove Lane.

Weekly club meetings begin at noon Tuesdays. Guests are welcome. Lunch, catered by Christopher’s, costs $9.

Master Gardener applications accepted

Clemson Extension Service is taking applications for the Master Gardener Class. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays Aug. 6-Nov. 12 at the Clemson Extension Office, 120 N. Congress St.

The program is open to all adults, regardless of gardening experience. Participants learn about all aspects of gardening from soils, to growing vegetables, fruits, trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns. They also learn about garden pests, beneficial insects and plant physiology.

Class costs $300. In addition to the fee, participants must volunteer a minimum of 40 hours in service to the community.

Enrollment is limited, and applications are due by July 6. Applicants will be contacted in July. Call 803-684-9919 for more information.

Sweet Repeat seeks volunteers

Sweet Repeat Charitable Foundation seeks volunteers for two to six hours a month to work at the Sweet Repeat Shop at Lake Wylie Plaza.
